Dahlia Sale info - Please read.

Growers Notes:
These dahlia tubers have been manually dug, hand divided and individually inspected for growing eyes and tuber quality at multiple stages of the dividing and packing process.

Our dahlia prices reflect the labour and growing resources required to produce our best quality tubers.

Storage is important:
From the time of recieveing your tubers to the time of planting, it is important to keep your tubers in a cool, dark and dry storage area.

Bedding them in a storage medium can help to maintain the moisture content at an appropriate level to avoid rot or drying out.

Peat Moss and Vermiculite in an open or aerated container works wonders for us.

Alternatively, pot them up in a sheltered spot untill ready for planting. We do this each year with our new tubers, as a form of isolation to ensure we are not introducing disease from outside sources or imported product.

Planting:
The rule of thumb for NZ is to be planting dahlias after Labour Weekend, but it is important not to plant before your last frost date.

Planting into free draining soil is important (especially for our Dannevirke Locals!).
Wait until your dahlias have 10-15cm of growth before watering, to avoid tuber rot.

Disclaimer:
Dahlia tubers will come in many different shapes and sizes, and our tubers have been checked multiple times for viable growing eyes before shipping out to you.
Best practice and care has been taken with our entire collection so as to eliminate possible spread of disease.
Please be aware that due to the nature of individual gardeners growing conditions, practices and climate, we cannot provide refunds on any tubers.

If upon recieving your tubers, you have concerns, please contact us via email, with attached photos of the tuber in question, within 24hrs of recieving shipment.

Happy Gardening Dahlia Lovers!
